It was so fun! He made dutch oven chicken, veggies and a chocolate cherry cobbler. It was amazing. He made this cooking trailer which has everything you can think of for cooking outside! Coolers, a grill, chairs and tables, stove burner, gas....everything!!! He likes to pull it behind his pick up and cook for family gatherings. Ingenius! I tell you!
I mean...who has a custom made outhouse? Of course it is red. All my Dad's stuff is red, it is his favorite color! I can't remember where he salvaged the toilet seat from but he saved it from somewhere!
I think my Dad really liked being able to cook us all dinner. We kept asking what we could bring and he just said "I got it all!" It was such good food!!!!
We took a walk down the ranch. I have so many memories of that place from when I was a kid. It is the beautiful part of Idaho. Alot of people have said that Idaho is ugly but I always thought they were strange because this was my memory of Idaho. The kids loved picking bouquets of flowers and seeing the river below! What a view!!!
This morning when my kids got up they asked if they got all their chores done, could we go back to the farm!?
I LOVE IT! That is why we have grandpas! You are a lucky girl and your kids are lucky kids. We should get our kids together this summer for feeding the ducks or taking a hike or water party or just sitting quietly and reading books - oh! I know!!! They could clean our houses together while we sat on the couch and ate ice cream and cookies. Call me and we will get it going! That should be a breeze after their visit to the "Summer home"!!!
ReplyDeleteum. want another sister? and um. 7 more neices and nephews? we could use another grandpa... and a farm house... and some peach cobbler... and a RED outhouse.
ReplyDeletethis makes me miss having adventures with my favorite Brown cousins.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I miss your parents and Idaho and you guys!!! The view from the back deck is um...breathtaking!!! I think Idaho is beautiful too!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have spent some wonderful hours at this old home and area. We love Idaho and our relative there. It is beautiful!! This is my favorite spot other than your DAd and Mom's home. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteFrom one redneck to another (you can't get much more redneck than growing up in Alabama), this looks like a day made in heaven. Your dad seems so much like my granddad. He's always thinking, making, building, or cooking up something new and interesting. It's an amazing talent to have.
